About Rehabilitation

Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Company is currently in Rehabilitation

The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania placed Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Company and American Network Insurance Company into rehabilitation effective January 6, 2009 appointing the Pennsylvania Insurance Department as the rehabilitator.

Liquidation Petitions

On July 27, 2016, the Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner, as Rehabilitator of the companies, filed a Notice of Withdrawal of the Second Amended Plan of Rehabilitation from the Court’s consideration, and new petitions requesting liquidation for both PTNA and ANIC.

These filings are all currently being reviewed by the Court. When the Court completes its review and makes a decision on these filings, policyholders will be notified and will receive more detailed information.

What does rehabilitation mean for policyholders?

You should not notice a difference in how your policies and claims are serviced. The benefit payment process remains the same. Your coverage remains in place as long as you continue to pay premiums as they become due.
